Syndicate Scoops a Share the UK Lotto £4 Million Jackpot

Friends from the Rhondda Valley in South Wales have struck Uk Lotto gold!

Four hard up friends will be sharing an eye popping £4 Million Jackpot win, along with ANOTHER SYNDICATE of cleaners from Stockton-on-Tees who are going to be banking a cool £225,000 each.

Hardship for the Rhondda Valley four who have all suffered redundancy, but each managed to chip in £1 every week to buy four lucky dips between them.

Bin man Mr Roberts said: ‘I was made redundant in 2008 and since then I’ve been working on the local refuse vans. It’s not the best paid job and I admit as I’ve been doing my rounds I’ve often fantasised about winning the lottery. When I realised I’d won my boss told me: ‘I’ve heard you’ve had a good weekend – I expect you’re going to tell me where to shove the job?’ I told him he was damn right! I didn’t know if I could afford to go on holiday this year, but I certainly can now!’

Father-of-one Mr Roberts said: ‘I didn’t believe it when I saw the numbers on Teletext early on Sunday morning.  I dragged my wife out of bed so she could check the ticket for me. I knew Gerwyn would be the only other member of the syndicate up at that time in the morning so I called him up to tell him. But he didn’t believe me so I had to go round to his house and show him the ticket. We then went round to Mike’s house and banged on the door till he got up to tell him the news and then did the same to Lance. Once everyone knew, we went back to my place for a party.’

The four rugby-mad mates will each scoop just over £1 Million after their winning ticket was 1 of 4 that shared the UK Lotto 16m rollover Jackpot.

The 4 newly made millionaires all live in terraced houses in the former pit village which has one of the highest unemployment rates in the UK. But as things stand the 4 friends say they have no plans to move or to start buying super cars.

In fact father-of-three Mr Gifford said: ‘My wife and I have been strapped for cash and the day before we won, we were talking about selling our car because we couldn’t afford it. This win changes everything.

Accounts manager Gerwyn Jones was out of work for six months two years ago but is the only one not quitting his job now just yet. He said: ‘I’m going to wait until my boss can get a replacement in until I leave, I don’t want to let anyone down. I was thankful when he took me on because when I was out of work I was struggling to afford the bills, so I know what it’s like.’
