News reaches Lotto Central HQ this morning from our blog readers across the pond that last night’s Powerball Jackpot of $70 million ( $46.6 million in cash ) was not won and has now started to build up again after the recent jackpot win.
In the draw last night , Saturday 21st May 2016 no ticket holders matched the main ball numbers of 05-07-09-23-32 and the Powerball of 26 and thus the $70 million jackpot was not won.
No ticket holders won the first prize but three lucky ticket holders ,one from Arizona ,one from California and one from New Jersey won a second prize by matching the five main balls in the Powerball draw .
The second prize ticket holder from Arizona won $1 million , the second prize ticket holder from California won $439,691 and the second prize ticket holder from New Jersey won $2 million as they had selected the Powerplay option on their entry ticket ( thus 2 x $1 million = $2 million as the Powerplay multiplier is two at this prize level)
The Powerball Lottery jackpot will therefore increase to an estimated $80 million ( $52.2 million in cash) in the next Powerball Lottery Draw which will be drawn on Wednesday 25th May 2016.
