News reaches Lotto Central HQ this morning from our blog readers across the pond that last night’s Powerball Jackpot of $35.5 ( $24.6 million in cash ) was not won and thus the Powerball jackpot will start to build up again following last week’s jackpot win.
In the draw last night , Wednesday 12th January 2022 two ticket holders matched the main ball numbers of 12-21-22-30-33 and the Powerball of 24 and thus the annuitised $35.5 million jackpot was not won.
The Powerball Lottery jackpot will therefore increase to an estimated $48 million ( $33.3 million in cash) in the next Powerball Lottery Draw which will be drawn on Saturday 15th January 2022.
There were no first prize winners in Wednesday night’s Powerball Draw however four ticket holders , one from Florida , one from Indiana , one from Kansas and one from New York did win a second prize by matching the five main white balls in the Powerball Draw.
The second prize winners from Florida , Kansas and New York took home $1 million each in prize money with the second prize ticket holder from Indiana taking home $2 million in prize money as they had selected the Powerplay option on their Powerball entry ticket.(Powerplay multiplier capped at 2 at this level of prize payout)
There were 355,133 winners in Wednesday night’s US Powerball Draw with a total of $9,191,055 being paid out in prize money.
The Powerplay multiplier in Wednesday night’s Powerball Draw was FOUR.
Previous experience proves that the Powerball jackpot soon grows substantially after a couple of rollovers so keep an eye on the LottoCentral blog to keep track of the ever growing jackpot !
