News reaches Lotto Central HQ this morning from across the pond that last night’s Powerball Jackpot of $23.2 million ( $17.3 million in cash ) was won as one lucky ticket holder from New Jersey matched the five main white balls and the red Powerball in the Powerball Draw and scooped the Powerball Jackpot !!
In the draw last night , Saturday 23rd January 2021 one ticket holder matched the main ball numbers of 05-08-17-27-28 and the Powerball of 14 and thus the annuitised $23.2 million jackpot was won.
The Powerball Lottery jackpot will therefore start off again at an estimated $20 million ( $15 million in cash) in the next Powerball Lottery Draw which will be drawn on Wednesday 27th January 2021.
There was one first prize winner in Saturday night’s Powerball Draw however forty three (!!) lucky ticket holders ,two from Arizona ,seven from California , six from Florida ( two with Powerplay), one from Georgia ( with Powerplay), two from Illinois( one with Powerplay) , one from Massachusetts ,one from Missouri, one from Montana ,one from New Hampshire (with Powerplay) ,two from New Jersey(one with Powerplay) ,one from New Mexico, twelve from New York(one with Powerplay) ,one from North Carolina , one from North Dakota, one from Puerto Rico(with Powerplay) ,one from Texas,one from Washington and one from Wisconsin also won a second prize by matching the five main white balls in the Powerball Draw.
The second prize ticket holders from California took home $33,827 each in prize money, the second prize ticket holders who had selected the Powerplay option on their Powerball entry ticket took home $2 million each in in prize money ( Powerplay multiplier is a maximum of 2 at this level of prize payout) with the remaining second prize ticket holders taking home $1 million each in prize money.
There were 1,032,768 winners in Saturday night’s US Powerball Draw with a total of $62,748,262 being paid out in prize money.
The Powerplay multiplier in Saturday night’s Powerball Draw was THREE.
