News reaches Lotto Central HQ this morning from across the pond that last night’s Powerball Jackpot of $639.4 million ( $478.2 million in cash ) was not won and thus the Powerball Jackpot has now grown to a significant amount worthy of Lottery enthusiast’s attention!
In the draw last night , Saturday 16th January 2021 no ticket holders matched the main ball numbers of 14-20-39-65-67 and the Powerball of 02 and thus the annuitised $639.4 million jackpot was not won.
The Powerball Lottery jackpot will therefore increase to an estimated $730 million ( $546 million in cash) in the next Powerball Lottery Draw which will be drawn on Wednesday 20th January 2021.
There were no first prize winners in Saturday night’s Powerball Draw however sixteen lucky ticket holders , two from California , one from Florida, one from Georgia ,one from Idaho, one from Illinois , one from Missouri,one from New Hampshire , one from New Mexico, one from New York ,one from Ohio , one from Pennsylvania, three from Texas and one from West Virginia did win a second prize by matching the five main white balls in the Powerball Draw.
The second prize ticket holders from California took home $536,063 each in prize money, the second prize ticket holders from Florida,Georgia,Idaho,Illinois,Missouri,New Mexico,New York,Ohio , Texas and West Virginia took home $1 million each in prize money.
The two remaining second prize ticket holders from New Hampshire and Pennsylvania took home $2 million each in prize money as they had selected the Powerplay option on their Powerball entry ticket . ( Powerplay multiplier is a maximum of 2 at this level of prize payout )
There were 4,041,267 winners in Saturday night’s US Powerball Draw with a total of $48,455,851 being paid out in prize money.
The Powerplay multiplier in Saturday night’s Powerball Draw was THREE.
