News reaches Lotto Central HQ this morning from our blog readers across the pond that there was a real 4th of July celebration in Missouri last night as one lucky ticket holder from that state scooped the $70 million ( $42.6 million in cash ) Powerball Lottery Jackpot !
In the draw last night , Saturday 4th July 2015 one lucky ticket holder matched the main ball numbers of 03-06-14-18-24 and the Powerball of 21 and thus the $70 million jackpot was won.
Along with the one lucky ticket holder ticket holder winning the first prize last night there were also four ticket holders that scooped the second prize by matching the five main balls.
The lucky second prize winners came from Florida, North Carolina ( x2 ) and Pennsylvania and with two of the four winners selecting the Powerplay option and increasing their prize money.
The second prize ticket holder from Florida scooped $1 milion along with one of the second prize winners from North Carolina with the second prize winner from Pennsylvania and one of the North Carolina winners scooping $2 million as they had selected the Powerplay option ( 2 x $1 million – Powerplay is always 2 at this level of prize payout).
The Powerball Lottery jackpot will therefore start again at an estimated $40 million ( $24.4 million in cash) in the next Powerball Lottery Draw which will be drawn on Wednesday 8th July 2015.
